Taka Museum is one and only specialized museum on numismatics in Bangladesh. It is a section which is regulated under Department of Currency Management of Bangladesh Bank. The main objective of the museum is to display the glorious history and heritage of currency of Bangladesh from ancient to modern period. It also collects and displays currencies of different countries of the world.
Main aspects of Taka Museum are to collect, preserve, research and display the monitory traditions of Bangladesh. Besides, the museum also discovers the untold history of those currencies through various kinds of research and publications. Here, coins and notes with relevant objects have been displayed attractively with detail information as it plays an important role as an educational institution. Another important aspect is to foster the history of money to the general people with the displayed objects and provide immense pleasure to them.
