Commemorative Banknotes and Coins of Bangladesh (1971- till date)

There are a collection of commemorative notes and coins of Bangladesh. Bangladesh Bank issued 12 commemorative coins and 4 commemorative banknotes. The commemorative coins were issued on the occasion of 20 years of Independence of Bangladesh 1971-1991, Summer Olympic Games-1992, Silver Jubilee of the Independence of Bangladesh-1996, 25 years of Bangladesh Bank-1996, Inauguration of Bangabandhu Bridge-1998, ICC Cricket Worldcup-2011, 150th Birth Anniversary of Bishwa Kobi Rabindranath Tagore-2011, 40 Years celebration of the Independence of Bangladesh-2011, 90 years of poem ‘Bidrohi’ of Kazi Nazrul Islam-2011 and Centenary celebration of Bangladesh National Museum-2013. Among the commemorative banknotes, in 2011 40 Taka note was issued to celebrate the 40 years of Independence of Bangladesh and 60 Taka note was issued to celebrate the 60 years of language movement in 2012. 25 Taka and 100 Taka commemorative notes were issued on the occasion of 25 years of Security Printing Corporation (Bangladesh) Ltd. and 100 years of Bangladesh National Museum respectively.
